For my art project, I explored the contrasting emotions of loneliness and joy by combining them into a single visual narrative. To represent loneliness, I created a black-and-white background with flashing, overwhelming textures that are intentionally uncomfortable to look at. This chaotic design reflects the messy, dark, and cold feelings of isolation, where the world feels as though it’s spinning, and the darkness seems endless.
In contrast, I introduced a dancing human figure that embodies carefree joy. Through its movements, it generates a positive aura that balances the surrounding darkness and grief. To make the figure universally relatable, I chose to render it as a simple silhouette. This abstraction minimizes distractions from specific details, allowing viewers to connect with the emotion rather than the individual form. The interplay between these elements emphasizes the tension and harmony between loneliness and joy.
